丹之宝艺廊 Tansbao Gallery

丹之宝画廊于2018 年在台北成立，是亚洲少数专注于推广喜马拉雅地区现代与当代艺术的画廊之一。作为一个重要的艺术平台，Tansbao 致力于支持和推广以「离散、身份与文化迁移」为主题的艺术风格，并将这些艺术实践以喜马拉雅现当代艺术的脉络中进行呈现与思考。

画廊代理多位享誉国际的艺术家，包括：Tsherin Sherpa （b.1968），他曾于2022 年代表尼泊尔、同时是该国历史上首次参展第59 届威尼斯双年展国家馆个展项目；Lain Singh Bangdel（1919-2002），是尼泊尔现代艺术发展的奠基者，被誉为「尼泊尔现代艺术之父」，其创作横跨绘画、文学与文化保存等领域；同时代理被视作「不丹当代艺术之父」的Asha Kama（b.1958）。这些艺术家的作品深刻呈现了寓居海外的移民文化经验，体现出丹之宝长期致力于发掘与深究喜马拉雅离散艺术家艺术发展的承诺。

除了聚焦喜马拉雅地区，丹之宝也积极参与东亚当代艺术的多元发展。画廊不仅代理多位具有国际影响力的东亚裔艺术家，同时也致力于培养台湾本地的新锐艺术人才；秉持着「汲古求新」的核心概念，丹之宝探索如何以当代视觉语言重新诠释并表达东亚美学的精神。

在策划展览的同时，丹之宝也积极参与国际艺术博览会，并与各地博物馆及学术机构合作，拓展全球艺术史的广度与视野。身为台湾画廊协会理监事会成员，丹之宝以独特的艺术史视角与深厚的区域文化理解，致力于将亚洲——特别是喜马拉雅与东亚离散社群之中珍贵且具启发性的艺术语言与文化叙事，带入全球艺术对话的场域。

Tansbao Gallery, established in 2018 and based in Taipei, is one of the few art galleries dedicated to promoting modern and contemporary art from the Himalayan region. The gallery serves as a vital platform advocating for artistic practices that explore themes of diaspora, identity, and cultural displacement within the broader context of Himalayan contemporary art.

Tansbao represents a roster of internationally acclaimed artists, including Tsherin Sherpa, who represented Nepal in its first-ever national pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale in 2022, Lain Singh Bangdel, a seminal figure in the development of Nepali modern art—widely recognized as the “father of modern Nepali art”—whose work spans painting, literature, and cultural preservation, and Asha Kama, regarded as the “father of contemporary Bhutanese art.” Through their work, these artists articulate complex experiences of displacement and hybridity, reflecting the gallery’s ongoing commitment to amplifying the voices of diasporic Himalayan artists.

In addition to its focus on the Himalayan region, Tansbao Gallery actively engages with the diverse landscape of contemporary East Asian art. It represents globally recognized diaspora artists of Eastern heritage and is dedicated to cultivating emerging talent in Taiwan. Guided by the ethos of “drawing from tradition to innovate,” the gallery explores how East Asian aesthetics can be reimagined and expressed through a contemporary visual language.

In addition to curating exhibitions in its Taipei space, Tansbao participates in international art fairs and collaborates with museums to broaden the scope of international art history. It also serves as a board member of the Taiwan Art Gallery Association. With a unique art historical perspective and deep regional insight, the gallery seeks to introduce rare and compelling artistic languages and cultural narratives from Asia—particularly the Himalayan and East Asian diasporas—into the global art discourse.
