安庆博物馆始建于1978年，与安徽中国黄梅戏博物馆、安庆市革命文物陈列馆为一个机构、三块牌子、两处馆舍，主要承担文物征集、收藏、保护、展示、研究、教育等职能，是全面反映安庆地区历史文化的综合性博物馆、国家一级博物馆，也是目前经国务院批准的全国唯一一家国字号黄梅戏专题博物馆。现安庆博物馆（安徽中国黄梅戏博物馆）位于安庆市经开区潜江路8号，安庆市革命文物陈列馆位于安庆市菱湖南路102号，总建筑面积4.25万平方米，总展陈面积1.34万平方米。
现有馆藏16000多件(套)，主要涵盖玉石器、陶瓷器、青铜器、书画、杂项、革命文物、黄梅戏文物史料等，其中，新石器时代的石雕人面像、越王丌北古剑、唐鹦鹉绶带纹大铜镜、明青花瓷瓶、明史可法“戒袽绸桑”碑刻、清邓石如隶书碑刻、太平天国圣库砝码、太平天国铁炮、清末黄梅戏手抄唱本、民国黄梅戏梓板、国共和平谈判时期黄镇同志谈判代表证以及邓石如、郑珊、郑琳等名人书画，是具有代表性、时代性、地域性的珍贵历史见证物。
目前设有安庆古代文明、安庆近代文明、黄梅戏艺术、安庆城市记忆、黄镇生平事迹、安庆钱币、安庆书画、石楠书屋、穿越时空看安庆等10个常设展览展厅，通过文物、雕塑、图表、油画、场景复原、沙盘、沉浸式体验、现场演绎以及数字导览等多种方式，生动诠释了古皖文化、禅宗文化、戏剧文化、桐城派文化、近代工业文化和红色文化。
安庆博物馆（安徽中国黄梅戏博物馆、安庆市革命文物陈列馆）现为全国文化系统廉政文化教育基地、中国华侨国际文化交流基地、安徽省爱国主义教育示范基地 、安徽省国防教育基地、安徽省廉政教育基地、安徽省科学技术普及基地、安徽省少先队校外实践教育基地、安徽省社会科学知识普及基地、全省共青团教育培训实践基地等。曾荣获安徽省文化旅游系统先进集体、“中国书法兰亭奖编辑出版类二等奖”、“全省博物馆六大陈列展览精品奖”，志愿服务工作被中央文明办和国家文物局表彰为典型案例，“大思政课”实践教学活动入选全国革命文物主题 “大思政课”优质资源项目名单。
Anqing Museum, formerly known as Anqing Class Education Exhibition Hall, was transformed into Anqing Museum in 1978 on the basis of the cultural relics group set up in the museum. The original site was located in the Shrine of Xiong Fan II Martyrs, No. 150 East Yanjiang Road. In September 2020, a new museum was built at No. 8 Qianjiang Road, Jingkai District, and the name was changed to Anqing Museum. Together with Anhui Chinese Huangmei Opera Museum, Anqing Revolutionary Cultural Relics Museum and Huangzhen Life Story Museum, it is one institution with three brands. It undertakes the comprehensive functions of cultural relics collection, protection, display, research, rescue archaeological excavation and so on. The museum now has 10 departments, with 40 business establishment, 40 government purchasing service personnel, the existing staff of 74 people, including 5 senior titles; Supporting the third party property service personnel more than 140 people. It is now the national key Museum, the National Secondary Museum, the International cultural Exchange Base for overseas Chinese, the General Science and Technology Base of Anhui Province, the International Exchange and Cooperation Base of Anhui Province, the patriotism Education base of Anhui Province, the National Defense Education base of Anhui Province, the clean Government Education base of Anhui Province, the Young Pioneers Education base of Anhui Province, as well as the Party member activity center of the city and the research base of primary and secondary school students of Anhui Province. Since its establishment, the museum has won many honors, such as “Second Prize in Editing and Publishing Category of Chinese Calligraphy Lanting Award”, “Demonstration Unit of Cultural Relics in Anhui Province”, “Advanced Collective of Cultural Work in Anhui Province”, “Award of Six Exhibition Masterpieces in Anhui Province Museum”. Anqing Museum (Anhui Chinese Huangmei Opera Museum, Anqing Revolutionary Cultural Relics Museum) is a comprehensive museum with local historical relics, especially modern revolutionary and dramatic cultural relics as the main body. The collection of cultural relics is more than 13,000 pieces, among which the representative ones are: Stone moai statues neolithic period and the warring states period king 丌 north DLC, Ming peacock peony grains may bottle, Ming Shi Kefa “quit 袽 mulberry silk tablet”, qing Deng Shiru official script and the taiping heavenly kingdom, Santa farmar, taiping day wang gun, huangmei opera, hand-written just wait, huangmei opera catalpa board of the republic of China in the late qing dynasty period, the kuomintang peace talks in 1946 comrade huang negotiation representative, etc. The total investment of the new museum project is about 376.724 million yuan. The main building is three floors above ground (four floors in part) and one floor underground. The total construction area is 40034 square meters, among which the exhibition area is 11368 square meters. There are 6 fixed displays. “Anqing Ancient Civilization Exhibition” mainly displays cultural relics and reproduces ancient civilization of Anqing with auxiliary forms such as scene restoration, sand table demonstration, animation film and television. “Anqing Modern Civilization Exhibition” focuses on cultural relics exhibits, uses pictures to coordinate narration, and uses sculptures, scene restoration and multimedia to assist display and create historical atmosphere, showing the magnificent historical scroll of modern Anqing. The “Huangmei Opera Art Exhibition” held by China Huangmei Opera Museum in Anhui combines the cultural relics and exhibits of Huangmei Opera with the magnificent exhibition form, revealing the formation and development process of Huangmei Opera in Anqing. “Anqing Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition” exhibits the works of famous painting and calligraphy masters who are or once lived in Anqing; “Anqing City Memory” displays cultural heritages with regional characteristics, such as time-honored shops and ancient buildings, by restoring old streets and alleys in Anqing. “Anqing Coin Exhibition” introduces the development history of coins, focusing on the display of coins minted by Tong Anjian, Su Song Jian and Anqing Mint. There are also two exhibition halls, lecture hall, social and educational activity room, book reading area, 5D cinema, intangible cultural heritage exhibition area, etc. Anqing Revolutionary Relics Exhibition Hall and Huang Zhen Life Story Museum was built in September 1993, located in No.102 Linghu South Road, Anqing City. It covers an area of 9,067 square meters, including 1,800 square meters of exhibition area. The architectural form is three courtyard-style antique architecture before and after, into and into the corridor interlinked, four water to the hall patio, yellow walls and red tiles, eaves and warped corners, tree-lined, especially solemn and solemn. The permanent exhibition is “Exhibition of Life and Deeds of Huang Zhen”. With precious pictures, objects and abundant documents and historical materials, it systematically displays Comrade Huang Zhen’s revolutionary and glorious life as a general, diplomat and artist.
